Do you think eBay should ban auction sniping?
I'm so tired of it. I'll be bidding on an item and three seconds before it ends, I'm out bid by some jerk who hasn't been bidding previously and waited to snipe it. The items I sell end up going for a lower price because everyone waits until the last minute to snipe it. As a buyer and seller I'm sick of it. What are your opinions on auction sniping?

- Ya I know I hate that too that happens a lot to me. The best thing you can do is put a complainant into ebay but i doubt they will do anything about it.
- As a buyer on ebay, i think it is great.. It makes the other bidders think that they have the product then BAM!! its yours as a seller, i am a bit cut about it, but the only thing you can do is start the bid off at around about the price you want.. or just a bit lower and just wait and c what happens. Thats what i do, it is a bit of a disadvantage because people want EVERYTHING CHEAP! as cheap as they possibly can but the seller wants the highest price
- I love the idea of sniping, as a buyer AND a seller. I look for bargains, and I have fun bidding at the last minute. On the other hand, as a seller, I like it because sometimes the bidding goes so high, and when I check at the end of the auction, I get so shocked at the price I got. Good luck!
- NO!!! I LOVE IT. I've saved thousands since finding Bidnapper. As a buyer I can use all the help I can GET! I have been ripped off (especially postage) enough times, so it's nice to have an edge. I only snipe now and my buyers are welcome to snipe me. My first 30 items cost me over $2,000! My last 70 have cost me LESS than $2,000 and now I buy better stuff! I recommend it to all buyers. Besides, a good sniper always puts in his maximum bid... I love seeing the price triple at the finish! If you have good items for sale you will have plenty of snipers AND bidders. I do. To attract more, use more keywords, especially good ones. For example, if you have an old no-name brand drill for sale that used to sit in a draw with a Makita drill, mention it! It will draw many more lookers who would not even give your item a second glance! There are always lots of people searching brand names. But, don't miss-lead them! That will only annoy them and they won't bid. Remember, you can't falsely describe your item. But you CAN mention anything you like in your description as long as it is not fraudulent. IE: I am selling this no-name drill as I was given a Makita for Xmas! Good buyers always check Titles AND Descriptions. Remember, you don't HAVE to sell on EBay! Have fun. Bruce
- Auction technology and tools will continue to evolve over time. This may be a situation where if you can't be them, join them! Have you looked into auction sniping programs? Some are free to use - which is why so many people are using them! Suzanne Wells The eBay Coach http://ebaysellingcoach.blogspot.com/
- I think ebay was designed like this, which, in my opinion is stupid. You should go to another auction site where the last bid will extend the time so that others will have time to place a higher bid if they want. I think ubid.com does this. This way it becomes less of a skill to just buy from ebay. Plus auctioning is all about selling for the most people are willing for and sniping just messes with that.
- in my opinion everyone should snipe it lowers the price. if people bid at the beginning that causes a "bidding war" drive up the price, compared to if people wait till the end then bid theres less competition(or at least less time for a "bidding war" to happen) therefore potentially making the idea sell for less other words sniping-good for customers (in general maybe not for you being the person outbid), bad for the seller bidding war= good for the seller, bad for the consumer(in terms of price for the item)
